The waters off Sydney swarm with bountiful cetaceans and sea birds which cant be seen from land. Bottlenose, Common and Risso Dolphins, Humpback, Minke, Pilot and enormous Southern Right whales cruise alongside False Killer Whales and Sperm Whales Sightings of whales are seasonal with May-June and Sept-November being the peak season for the Humpback migration as it passes Sydney. You will venture out to the waters of the continental shelf where land is just a speck in the distance, to see these magnificent creatures in their own environment. See the majestic endangered Wandering Albatross , King of Sea birds alongside the minute elegant storm petrels. Some of the other species you will encounter such as great winged petrels, giant petrels, prions , shearwaters , jaegers (skuas) just to name a few , have flown from different corners of the world to visit the eastern coastline. Once out on the shelf the boats engines are cut and birds are attracted with a chum mixture whilst the boat drifts silently with the ocean currents. It is not unusual to have a number of albatrosses and other species on the water within metres of the boat so bring your cameras.
