A sailing regatta on Sydney Harbour offers a unique and exhilarating experience. A maximum of 10 guests sail on board each of our evenly matched state-of-the-art 40ft racing yachts. All guests will meet at a waterside venue for registration and are welcomed by your Kookaburra Race Director and Host. You will be given a full safety briefing and familiarisation drills aboard the yachts. Each team is led by a highly qualified and experienced skipper plus an additional crewmember and they will guide and assist everyone to take an active part in the steering and racing of the yacht. Whilst on board each team can decide on their own tactics and allocate crew responsibilities. Over the course of the 4 hours, we conduct 3 races over set harbour courses (pending wind direction and speed) under international match racing rules. Each of the skippers communicate via our special trunking radio system to ensure a well organised and tight regatta. A five minute shot is fired as the pre-start signal then a start and finish gun for each race. The sailing takes the yachts close to many of Sydney Harbour's best attractions. Once the races are complete, guests are transferred back onto the tender vessel for a wrap-up from the Race Director and presentations can be made to the winning team. These regattas are a perfect team building experience providing active participation, healthy competition as well as a great deal of fun and excitement for your guests.
