Our one-day fly fishing class runs from 9am to 4pm. In the morning you practice knot tying and dry-land casting. After a delicious lunch we head off to the water to apply what you learned in the morning. The following are included in our introductory class: * Fly casting * Fly choice and entomology * Equipment overview * Knot tying * Catch and release techniques * Safety We have access to a private trout fishery in the picture-perfect Huon Valley on the edge of the Southwest Conservation area. The fishery, a one-hour drive from Hobart, offers prime trout fishing for both beginners and those with experience. Rainbow and brown trout inhabit a series of ponds - from small to over two hectares. The fish vary in size from 300 gm to over 6 kg and all ponds are fed from pristine waters The fishery is an ideal setting to test newly learnt skills and casting techniques, so that when you are challenged by a slurping brown in the wild, you will have the confidence to make that perfect cast.
